Eligibility Requirements: Student Visa (Tier 4)
It’s essential to be informed of the prerequisites for a UK student visa in advance to prevent delays. The eligibility criteria are listed below and have been provided for the students’ benefit:
- Have a firm offer of a seat on a course from a licensed Tier 4 sponsor.
- Financial proofs, in other words, show that you have the resources to support yourself financially while also paying for your education.
- You must be fluent in English to be able to talk, read, write, and comprehend it.
- The applicant must be of 16 years of age or more.
The earliest you can apply for a visa is 6 months before you start your course. You’ll usually get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.
If you’re 18 or over and your course is at degree level, you can usually stay in the UK for up to 5 years. If it’s below degree level, you can usually stay in the UK for up to 2 years.

UK Student Visa Fees:
- Student Visa fees are from £363 – £1163 per visa application.
- £490 to extend or switch to a Student visa from inside the UK
